Thursday, January 14
• Meet at RDU airport at 4:45 am
• Arrive in Bozeman around noon
• Drive to Yellowstone National Park (about 2 hours)
• Group meeting
• Yellowstone night sky observation, weather permitting
• Lodging at Mammoth Hotel

Friday, January 15
• Depart at 8 am on Snowcoach to Old Faithful
• Geology of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
• Wildlife observation in Hayden Valley
• Arrive at 6 pm at Old Faithful
• Lodging at Snow Lodge Cabins

Saturday, January 16
• Sunrise hike in Upper Geyser Basin
• Geology of Upper Geyser Basin with Park staff
• Depart at 1 pm on Snowcoach to Mammoth
• Hike around Fountain Paint Pots
• Bird observation along the Madison River
• Arrive at 6 pm at Mammoth
• Lodging at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel

Sunday, January 17
• Morning wildlife observation in Lamar Valley
• Lunch in Cooke City
• Visit to one-room schoolhouse in Cooke City
• Showshoe hike with wildlife photographer Dan Hartman
• Wildlife observation in Lamar Valley
• Lodging at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel

Monday, January 18
• Morning wildlife observation in Lamar Valley
• Snowshoe hike along Lamar River
• Lunch in Cooke City
• Snowshoe hike near Pebble Creek
• Evening wildlife observation in Lamar Valley
• Closure; workshop review
• Lodging at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel

Tuesday, January 19
• Early morning hike at Mammoth Terraces with Park Ranger
• Depart at 10 am for Bozeman, MT
• Leave Bozeman at 2:20 pm
• Arrive at RDU around 10:30 pm
